Scoutary Terms of Service

Welcome to Scoutary!

Scoutary is a browser extension and dashboard. These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) constitute the agreement between you (“you”, “user”) and the Scoutary team (“we”, “us”) governing your access to and use of the Scoutary extension, the dashboard at scoutary.ai, and the APIs and endpoints we provide for it (together, the “Service”). By installing the extension, signing in, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

We may modify or supplement these Terms, and will publish the revised version on this page. Changes take effect on publication. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the revised Terms; if you do not, stop using the Service.

If you are registering or using the Service on behalf of an organization rather than yourself, you represent that you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms.

Your account

The Service requires a Scoutary account. Your account is for your own use. You may not use someone else’s account without permission, nor use another account to reach paid features you have not paid for. Keep the information on your account accurate and up to date.

You are responsible for the activity that happens under your account and for keeping your credentials confidential. Tell us immediately at [email protected] if you become aware of unauthorized use of your account or any security problem. Except where caused by our own breach of these Terms, we are not liable for losses arising from unauthorized use of your account.

Where your account belongs to a team, other members of that team can see the watches, topics, snapshots and settings held in that team. Team owners control seat assignment and membership.

What the Service does, and what it does not do

Scoutary re-checks the pages and page blocks that you add, in your own browser, using the sessions you are already signed into, and reports what changed.

Scoutary reads only. It does not post, reply, submit forms, make purchases, or change anything on any site on your behalf.
Scoutary checks only what you added. It does not crawl, and it does not read other tabs or pages you did not add.
Scoutary is a monitoring tool, not a source of truth. Sites change their markup, rate-limit, and go down. We do not guarantee that every check succeeds, that every change is detected, or that a notification arrives at a particular time. Do not rely on Scoutary as the sole control for anything safety-critical, financial or legally required.

Your responsibilities when monitoring a site

You choose what to monitor, and you are responsible for that choice.

You must have the right to access the pages you add, and you must comply with the terms of service, robots policy and applicable law of each site you monitor.
You may not use the Service to collect personal data unlawfully, to circumvent a site’s access controls or anti-automation measures, to evade a block, or for any purpose prohibited by law.
You may not use the Service to place unreasonable load on any site. Scoutary applies conservative default intervals and per-site pacing; do not attempt to defeat them.
If a site asks us to stop, or a site blocks Scoutary, we may stop checking that site and will tell you.

We may suspend or terminate access that breaches this section.

Plans, payment and refunds

Parts of the Service are paid. Where a plan is paid, you must pay in full according to the pricing shown at the time of purchase, and the term of use is the one attached to the plan you bought. We may change pricing and billing methods; changes are published on the relevant page before they apply to a new term.

You may withdraw from a purchase for any reason within 14 days and receive a full refund of what you paid us, unless you have started using or benefiting from the paid features during that period, in which case no refund is due. To request a refund, contact [email protected]. Refunds are processed within 1–5 business days.

Plans and seats are bound to the account or team they were purchased for. They may not be transferred, resold, shared between people, or used by more people than the seats you hold. If we find a breach of this, we may suspend or terminate the plan without refund.

API keys and connected programs

You may create an API key, or connect an AI assistant over our hosted MCP endpoint, to read your own Scoutary data from outside the dashboard. Anything you can see in the dashboard becomes readable by whatever program holds that key. You are responsible for the programs you give a key to and for revoking keys you no longer trust. Do not share a key outside the team it was created in.

Your data and your content

You keep ownership of the data you create with the Service — your watch list, topics, snapshots, extracted values and history. We handle it as described in the Scoutary Privacy Policy and use it to operate the Service for you, not for advertising and not to train AI models.

You are responsible for the lawfulness of the content you bring into the Service, including anything read from pages you added and anything you send to a notification channel you configured.

Intellectual property

The Scoutary extension, dashboard, APIs, name, logo and all related software, documentation, interface design and other materials are owned by Scoutary or its licensors and protected by applicable law. These Terms grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service; they do not transfer any ownership.

You may not translate, modify, decompile, disassemble, reverse engineer, or attempt to derive the source code of the Service, nor defeat or alter any licensing or protection measure. You may not resell, rent, sublicense or otherwise make the Service available to a third party, for profit or otherwise, without our written consent. You may not use the Scoutary name or logo without written permission.

Availability, warranties and liability

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or relating to the Service. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the extension; to delete your account data, email [email protected]. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if continuing would create a security or legal risk. Where practical we will tell you first.
